Ciampa Reveals If He Wants To Bring Back His Full WWE Name

Will Ciampa regain Tommaso?

While Vince McMahon was at the helm of WWE, many talents often found their names being shortened upon moving to the main roster and the likes of Riddle, Theory, Big E, and Ciampa all lost their first or last names.

With Triple H having replaced McMahon as head of WWE creative, though, some have wondered if WWE could reverse some of those changes.

Speaking with Wrestling Inc, Ciampa revealed that wouldn't be something he is interested in, noting that he isn't concerned about becoming Tommaso Ciampa once again.

"I'm good with Ciampa. Tommaso is my birth name, Ciampa is actually my godmother's name so when I picked that for wrestling there was a lot of meaning behind that for me. The first time it was on the 'NXT' title I got uber emotional and then it was on packaging and figures and stuff. The fact that that gets to live on, not to get emotional on you, but my godmother during this time has gone through some hard times healthwise so the fact that I kept that - I was like, oh no, if we're picking one, please, let's keep Ciampa," The Blackheart said.

While he might not become Tommaso Ciampa again, the two-time NXT Champion looks set to be featured prominently on the main roster and he received a push on Monday's episode of Raw, earning a United States Title shot.
