CM Punk Comments On Fan Who Offered Him A Beer At AEW Rampage

CM Punk does stage dives in AEW. It's just a thing he does now. 

During one of his stage dives, where he banks on the front row of the crowd catching him and, therefore, saving him from a cold concrete floor, Straight Edge Superstar Punk was offered a beer by a fan. 

During an interview with Shakiel Mahjouri of Entertainment Tonight Canada, Punk revealed that he appreciated the sentiment behind the offering, more so than the pint of lager itself: “The thing that was going through my mind in that moment was, ‘Man, this guy is lucky I’m not a heel right now.’ But it was a funny moment for me.

"I was just like, ‘This is hilarious.’ Sometimes it’s not about the gift, the gesture is more important.”

Punk has been Straight Edge all of his life and displays this fact with a number of tattoos. He has the phrase 'STRAIGHT EDGE' emblazoned across his stomach, while 'DRUG FREE' appears across his fingers. 

Punk recently spoke about security teams preferring that he didn't perform the dives at AEW shows: "They lean towards trying to tell me not to do it, but they're also like, 'Is this going to be a thing? Can we maybe not...' I'm like, 'Guys, I don't know, I just go out there.'"
