CM Punk: 'Security Has Talked To Me About AEW Stage Dives'
It would appear they're not particularly keen
Oct 4, 2021
CM Punk has added stage dives to his repertoire of signature mannerisms since arriving in AEW.
The Straight Edge Superstar has performed numerous dives since making his debut back on the August 20 episode of AEW Rampage, including one that saw him offered a beer by an unassuming fan.
While appearing on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Punk spoke about his stage dives and noted that security teams aren't particularly keen on him doing them.
"[Security has] talked to me about it. They lean towards trying to tell me not to do it, but they're also like, 'Is this going to be a thing? Can we maybe not...' I'm like, 'Guys, I don't know, I just go out there.' The time I did it in New Jersey, there was a dude who was like, 'I'm gonna catch you.' I was like, 'Okay, good to know,' so I did it. It's all spur of the moment. It really is," Punk said. Punk also joked about fans who purchase tickets close to the ramp. Basically, if you do buy a ticket there, be prepared to have CM Punk flying in your general direction (catching not essential but preferred). Huge thanks to Fightful for the transcription.
