CM Punk: Darby Allin Has The It Factor

Punk sees Darby Allin being an AEW cornerstone for the foreseeable future.

CM Punk's first match in almost eight years was against Darby Allin at AEW All Out 2021. Almost two years removed from that bout, the Straight-Edge Superstar sees Darby as one of the company's MVPs.

During a recent conversation with Sports Illustrated, Punk was asked to identify the AEW locker room's 'Connor Bedard' (in reference to the 18-year-old phenom who was drafted by Punk's beloved Chicago Blackhawks hockey team), and named Allin as someone who could be a cornerstone of the brand for the next decade.

"It's Darby Allin. He's still fairly young, and he always makes chicken salad out of chicken sh*t," Punk said.

Continuing, the 'Real AEW World Champion' said:

"He's got that 'It Factor', and he's really getting comfortable. We had a whole big promo segment a few weeks ago [on Collision], and I thought he shined. That made me super proud. He has a tonne to offer, as long as he doesn't kill himself jumping over his house in a f***ing monster truck or something like that"

Darby will team with Sting to take on Swerve Strickland and AR Fox in a Coffin Match at All In this Sunday.
