CM Punk Gives Injury Update, Will Be Back 'Soon'

CM Punk will be back from injury soon

Heading into last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, CM Punk was advertised as appearing live. He did not appear on the live broadcast of SmackDown, but he did show up in front of the paying crowd, cutting a promo after SmackDown went off the air.

This was not just a small speech to pop the crowd though, as he did provide some promising insight into his recovery from injury and comeback to the ring, noting that he would be back “soon”.

"I want to give a little update -- my tricep is not a hundred percent, yet. But I am on track and I promise, soon, I will be back and competing with all the tough badasses backstage."

Punk has been out of action ever since suffering a torn triceps at the 2024 Royal Rumble match at the hands of Drew McIntyre, who hit him with a Future Shock DDT. Throughout his recovery process, Punk has sporadically appeared on WWE programming, such as both the WrestleMania 40 and Elimination Chamber kickoff events, on RAW to engage in promos with the likes of McIntyre and Seth Rollins, and even at WrestleMania on commentary. Punk was able to get physical at WrestleMania, removing his arm brace and beating down McIntyre, allowing Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank contract.
