Feb 21, 2022
CM Punk completes the inaugural class of the Ring Of Honor Hall Of Fame, joining The Briscoes, Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe, the promotion announced today.
A legend of the industry, CM Punk made his ROH debut back in November 2002 and performed in the promotion until February 2006, before he joined WWE.
Punk was a rising star in the promotion and he had several memorable moments as part of Ring Of Honor, including the first Summer of Punk when he held the ROH World Title from June until August 2005, after he had signed a contract with WWE.
He also had a legendary trilogy of matches with Samoa Joe which featured two time-limit draws before The Samoan Submission Machine won their final meeting, as well as a memorable feud with Raven.
Outside of his ROH World Title reign, Punk was a two-time ROH World Tag Team Champion as part of The Second City Saints with Colt Cabana.
Similar to the other inductees, a career retrospective on Punk will be featured on this week's episode of Ring Of Honor Wrestling. A YouTube special will be released on Monday, February 28 too.
A Hall Of Fame episode of Ring Of Honor wrestling will air the weekend of March 5.
CM Punk would spend several years in WWE following his ROH departure, performing in the company until his release in 2014. He then took a seven-year hiatus from professional wrestling before he returned in August of 2021 in AEW.
