All Elite Wrestling broadcast Dynamite from Chicago Illinois on June 21, and as they were in Chicago it was fitting that CM Punk made his Dynamite return, several days after returning to AEW for the debut edition of Collision.

Punk made a surprise appearance, running to the aid of FTR and Ricky Starks as they were about to receive a four-on-three beatdown from Bullet Club Gold and The Gunns shortly after the four men had put a beating on The Hardys. Punk took the mic to announce that all eight men would clash on the Forbidden Door go-home edition of Collision on June 24.

The former AEW World Champion noted that “I’m a Collision guy I’m not even supposed to be here” before demanding his music be played to end the segment.

This was Punk’s first appearance on Dynamite in over 10 months, with the ‘Second City Saint’ recently returning to action following a long layoff due to a triceps injury, as well as serving a suspension for his part in the All Out backstage locker-room fight with The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Ace Steel.

Announced for the June 24 edition of AEW Collision:

  • Swerve Strickland vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi
  • CM Punk, FTR, and Ricky Starks vs. Jay White, Juice Robinson, and The Gunns
  • Christian Cage addresses the TNT Championship
  • We’ll learn Darby Allin and Sting’s partner for Forbidden Door
  • Brody King vs. Andrade El Idolo
  • Nyla Rose vs. Willow Nightingale - Owen Hart Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal
