CM Punk's Reported AEW Debut Mentioned On NFL Network

Punk is rumoured to be making his AEW debut on the August 20 Rampage

CM Punk fever is gripping the wrestling world right now, with the long dormant former WWE Champion rumoured to be joining AEW.

Ahead of his rumoured debut in Chicago’s Sears Centre at AEW Rampage: The First Dance this Friday, Punk has been the talk of the town, including in non-wrestling circles.

Whilst discussing the NFL pre-season game between Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins, NFL Network’s Adam Rank claimed the debut of quarterback Justin Fields as ‘the most anticipated debut in Chicago’ until Punk on Friday, saying:

“I think that was the most-anticipated debut in Chicago until Friday when, presumably, CM Punk shows up on AEW.”

Punk himself has been having fun with the rumours too, dropping ‘All Elite’ references whilst providing commentary at an MMA event over the weekend.

Based on rumour and innuendo alone, anticipation is high for CM Punk’s possible AEW debut, and if AEW follows through and pulls it off then it could be one of the biggest wrestling nights of the past few years.
