Danhausen is officially a week into his WWE career after the very mixed reaction to his debut at the Elimination Chamber 2026, prompting uncertainty both among fans and backstage within WWE, with some in the company even drawing comparisons to the disastrous Gobbledy Gooker reveal at Survivor Series 1990. However, WWE bounced back with two segments on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown which have settled the talk surrounding his arrival.
When it comes to WWE’s decision to bring in Danhausen, it was revealed that those in WWE were split about his signature, though it has now been revealed who pushed for him to be signed. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was Danhausen’s real life close friend CM Punk who spearheaded the move. It is noted that Punk was very vocal about the idea of bringing in Danhausen, which is not much of a surprise given their open and public friendship.
Over the last week, it emerged that WWE were happy with the overall impact of Danhausen’s debut thanks to his merchandise sales performing well.
