CM Punk Takes Shot At AEW Ratings

CM Punk has taken a mocking jab at AEW’s ratings

Just when we thought we’d heard the last about CM Punk and AEW (for a while at least), Punk has gone and opened things up again after mocking the recent ratings for AEW TV.

It appears that Punk’s jabs were more playfully sarcastic than openly venomous, with the ‘Second City Saint’ replying to former on-screen rival MJF after Friedman posted about his wins in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Awards on Instagram.

MJF scooped up plaques for ‘Most Hated Wrestler of the Year’ and ‘Feud of the Year’ for his series with Punk, with the current AEW World Champion taping over Punk’s name on the award. Punk replied in the comments, saying: "Maybe find some tape for the ratings so nobody sees those either."

Punk’s future in AEW is currently up in the air following his part in the now infamous All Out 2022 post-show brawl with The Elite. Punk, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks were suspended for their actions, whilst AEW Producer Ace Steel was fired. Reports suggested in late 2022 that AEW and CM Punk were working on a contract buyout.
