CM Punk Vs. Dustin Rhodes Announced For 4/20 AEW Dynamite
Rhodes issued the challenge on Rampage
Two veterans will square off one on one on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, as CM Punk will take on Dustin Rhodes.
Rhodes cut a promo on Friday's AEW Rampage, talking about knocking Lance Archer out of the rankings, and proving that he still has what it takes after so many years in the business. He then challenged Punk to meet him in the ring on Dynamite, calling it a dream match of his. The announcers revealed later that Punk accepted.
Punk's coming off of a win over Penta Oscuro on this past week's Dynamite. In recent weeks, Punk has made it clear that he wishes to challenge for the AEW World Heavyweight title.
The card for Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, taking place at Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, is as follows:
* Coffin Match: Darby Allin vs. Andrade el Idolo
* CM Punk vs. Dustin Rhodes
* Wardlow vs. The Butcher
* Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier: Jungle Boy vs. Kyle O'Reilly
* Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier: Dr. Britt Baker vs. Danielle Kamela
* Hook vs. an unnamed opponent
* Plus, an announcement from Tony Khan
