Cody Rhodes' AEW Run Referenced On WWE Raw

Cody Rhodes flexing his power leads to an AEW reference on WWE Raw

Cody Rhodes' time in All Elite Wrestling was mentioned during the September 4 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Jey Uso made his debut as a member of the Raw roster on this week's show from the red brand as Jey and Sami rekindled their friendship in the opening segment on September 4. Cody Rhodes was ultimately the man responsible for Jey joining Monday Night Raw, with Rhodes stating at Payback that he used his power to move Jey from SmackDown to Monday nights.

Rhodes' management role in AEW and the power he once held was hinted at by Michael Cole on Raw as the commentator said, "Cody used to be an EVP, I guess he can get things done." Rhodes was previously an Executive Vice President of All Elite Wrestling alongside Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks upon the promotion's founding in January 2019. Rhodes remained in a management role until he and Brandi Rhodes left AEW in February 2022, with Cody returning to WWE a couple of months later at WrestleMania 38.

The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega remain EVPs, having re-signed with AEW last month.

Following Uso's move to Raw, a talent will be headed to the blue brand, with Adam Pearce stating that SmackDown will receive trade compensation.
