Cody Rhodes Likely Taking Time Off From AEW Soon
The AEW EVP is set to return to the Go Big Show

Cody Rhodes hasn’t wrestled for AEW since July 7, but is set to take on Malakai Black at the upcoming Homecoming edition of Dynamite in Daily’s Place on August 4.
Now, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, Rhodes is likely to be taking time off soon, and his match against Black could be used to write him off TV.
Meltzer said:
“Because they are back in Jacksonville, it won’t be a big crowd, although it’ll probably end up bigger than any crowd they did at Daily’s Place aside from the last PPV. Cody vs. Malakai Black is announced and Cody is likely leaving to do “Go Big Show” shortly after if not right after.”
Deadline had earlier confirmed that the ‘extreme’ talent show is set to return for season 2, with Rhodes once again joining the judging panel alongside Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles, and new judge DJ Khaled. Production on the 10-episode hour-long second season begins next month in Georgia.
