Cody Rhodes Says 10,000 Seat PPV Date And Venue Will Be Known Within Two Weeks

The self-financed pay per view is being organised by Cody and The Young Bucks.

ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes has told ESPN that a date and venue will be known for the self-financed, 10,000 seat pay per view within two weeks.

The show - planned by himself and The Young Bucks - is rumoured to be taking place in one of a few venues. London, Chicago, and two California locations (San Francisco and Ontario) have been named as potential host cities. Although a rough date isn't yet known, it is said to be definitely taking place sometime in 2018.

Cody seemed excited at the potential the show has - and if it goes well, it will certainly be seen as a landmark in independent wrestling - but remained tight-lipped with regard to wrestlers scheduled to appear:

'I was confident enough to say let’s do it, Matt and Nick were confident enough to say let's do it - but this is something that hasn’t been done. A lot of things have to happen. I think I’m most excited about the creation process, putting this together with those two guys myself. Some of the stuff that we’ve already got on board - not talent-based - but as far as people who are involved with this and people who have put some confidence in us, it’s just crazy.'

Since leaving WWE in mid-2016, Cody has marketed himself very intelligently, and joined the massively popular Bullet Club stable at the end of the year.

After winning the Ring of Honor World Championship from Christopher Daniels at Best in the World 2017, Cody went on to face IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada at NJPW's G1 Special in USA - a rare champion vs. champion clash between two top promotions.

He is schedule to defend the title against Kota Ibushi at Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4th 2018.

The Young Bucks remain one of the hottest acts in independent wrestling, their popularity evident in astonishing merchandise sales and their comedic 'Being the Elite' YouTube series.
