Cody Rhodes Wants To Defend Undisputed WWE Title Against LA Knight

Cody Rhodes is looking ahead to his next title challengers

Cody Rhodes’ reign as Undisputed WWE Champion is officially underway after his first televised title defence took place last night at the 2024 Backlash France premium live event, defeating AJ Styles in a hard-fought 27-minute main event match. The question now is “what’s next?” for Cody Rhodes and his title reign, and this question was posed to Rhodes himself at the post-show press conference.

Rhodes initially touched on the fact that he’d love to run it back with Styles after such a great clash, but then threw out some names that he’d be interested in working with, and LA Knight was one of them.

"LA Knight is somebody that I look at because, I get it, ‘it’s two good guys.’ I understand that. There is a flavour there. There is something about it. When you have that fever, you want to know. ‘I’m the man.’ ‘No, I’m the man.’ All that macho toxic alpha stuff that I still have a bit of, I suppose."

Rhodes and LA Knight have had one singles match in WWE before, which came on the March 13 episode of RAW in 2023. The champion would also highlight Randy Orton as someone he would like to face next.
