Hulk Hogan has passed away today at the age of 71.

TMZ first reported that Hogan had passed away, with PWInsider noting that Hogan died following a "massive cardiac arrest" earlier today at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Hogan was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, but they were unable to save him.

Hogan had suffered from health issues in recent months after undergoing neck fusion surgery in May.

Real name Terry Bollea, Hogan is one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling. He began his career in 1977 and after rising to prominence as part of the AWA, Hogan rose to superstardom upon returning to WWE in 1983. He remained the company's top star until 1993, during which Hogan and WWE became globally recognised.

Hogan would join World Championship Wrestling in 1994 and he famously turned heel at Bash at the Beach 1996, forming the nWo in the process with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. The nWo became one of the most important factions in pro wrestling history and Hogan was one of WCW's biggest stars until the company shuttered in 2001.

Following WWE's purchase of WCW, Hogan returned to the company and enjoyed an Indian summer across multiple runs between 2002 and his final WWE match at SummerSlam 2006.

Hogan was later a part of TNA Wrestling from 2009 until 2013 and returned to WWE for the fourth time in 2014. He exited the company and was removed from the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015, however, after it was leaked that Hogan used the N-word to describe his daughter Brooke's then-boyfriend.

Hogan was controversially reinstated to the WWE Hall of Fame in the summer of 2018 and he remained affiliated with WWE until his passing, including his Real American Beer company being a sponsor of Monday Night Raw. Hogan's last WWE appearance came at the Netflix premiere of Raw on January 6, 2025.

Beyond WWE, WCW, and TNA, Hogan had several high-profile runs in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, performing for the promotion over 300 times between 1980 and his final NJPW match in 2003.

Across his pro wrestling careeer, Hogan is a six-time WWE Champion, six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, two-time WWE Royal Rumble winner, and one-time WWE Tag Team Champion with Edge. He also won the original version of NJPW's IWGP Title in 1983.

Outside of pro wrestling, Hulk Hogan appeared in several movies, including Rocky III as Thunderlips, No Holds Barred, Mr. Nanny, and Suburban Commando.

In recent months, Hogan had been involved in the launch of Real American Freestyle along with Eric Bischoff, an amateur wrestling league. He was also involved in politics in 2024, being a prominent supporter of Donald Trump during his presidential campaign.

Cultaholic Wrestling sends its deepest condolences to Hulk Hogan's family and friends.
