Merchandise sales always play a big part in WWE’s plans for a specific superstar, with the most popular merch sellers usually given sustained pushes by the company.

A report from Fightful Select suggests that at the WWE Royal Rumble on January 27, Cody Rhodes was the main merch mover at the event, with internal WWE memos stating that Rhodes was top seller at the on-site Royal Rumble WWE Superstore at Tropicana Field, whilst Rhodes’ ‘Rumble Winner’ shirt was the number one selling item on WWE Shop.

Rhodes has been one of WWE’s top merchandise movers since his return to the company at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, and has made no secret of his desire to be seen as and depended upon to be ‘the man’ in the company.

After winning the Rumble, it is expected that Rhodes will once again challenge Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, although a triceps injury to CM Punk means that there is a chance that WWE could pivot to Rhodes vs. World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at the event instead. Rollins himself has teased that the two could wrestle at the show.
