WrestleMania 43 weekend has been a major talking point for not just WWE, but AEW too. With WWE taking another controversial trip over to Saudi Arabia for their marquee show of the year, fans have speculated about AEW running a stadium show on US soil on the same weekend, providing fans and independent companies alike with something akin to a “WrestleMania weekend” which will be sorely missed in 2027. Nothing concrete has emerged as of yet, but there are reportedly some talks ongoing.
AEW referee Bryce Remsburg provided some insight when asked about this on The Certified Mark Show, revealing that conversations were happening.
“I can say that conversations are being had around what we might do that weekend. How about that? There are some factors out of our control that would contribute to our decisions. So we’ll kind of see what happens and then we’ll see what happens.”
Remsburg also discussed the possibility of AEW hosting a stadium show in the US, noting that it was possible for the promotion to run a venue that previously ran a WrestleMania, hinting at the potential of Lincoln Financial Field, but remaining coy on the details. It has been noted in recent months that WWE were expecting AEW to run a big show across WrestleMania weekend, which was supposedly a factor in WWE announcing events for NXT & AAA nine months in advance. Tony Khan has also spoken on the fact that he is open to running domestic shows during this time.
