NXT Announcer Mauro Ranallo did not appear at Survivor Series on Sunday.

While Michael Cole announced on air it was because Ranallo had lost his voice commentating at NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez reported that tweets from Corey Graves were the reason behind the absence.

Since then, Graves has put out a couple of cryptic tweets about the importance of the truth.

Late yesterday, Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Ranallo had not quit WWE, and was expected to announce this Wednesday's episode of NXT as normal. Graves responded to the report,

tweeting Dave Meltzer directly

: “you uninformed, false narrative pushing liar. My phone works. You're a “journalist,” right? You can find my number.”

Meltzer replied

: “Now that we're on day three of this, you could at least apologize to Mauro, show a slight bit of remorse, take down the tweet, all of the above. When you mess someone up on your own team, don't think only about yourself first, second and last.”

Graves responded a couple of hours later, tweeting

: “My phone isn't ringing, Dave. More content to continue your rumor-mongering I see.'

Meltzer's colleague Bryan Alvarez also interjected himself into the Twitter spat. Upon linking Graves earlier tweet calling out Meltzer,

he added:

“I presume Mauro has an unlisted number which is why you had to go after him in public?”

Graves replied

: “Are you the guy that is simultaneously a “wrestler” and a dirt sheet writer, yet doesn't ACTUALLY grasp how this world works?”
