Creative Delays Reportedly Very Frustrating For AEW Talent

AEW talent are getting frustrated by the creative process

Delays in the AEW creative process are causing issues for talent, a new report alleges.

Speaking on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that key decisions are being made later and later:

"So much of the stuff is, you know, I mean, if you follow AEW, you know that a lot of the stuff is being decided at much later periods than previous, you know. Guys are getting their information and what they're doing later, and decisions are being made later. So that’s just how it is. I mean, there are times, you know, the day of the show where you don't even know, it's almost at times like you we used to talk about with WWE, which is also very frustrating for talent," Meltzer said.

Continuing, Meltzer talked about how much input talent has when it comes to their creative direction, saying:

"I mean, it's like, a lot of the guys have a lot of input on what they're doing. So they're doing stuff, but they don't really know a long-term direction. So they're doing stuff and they're coming up with ideas. But when you don't really know exactly a long-term direction, then you’re kind of like coming up with ideas week by week too, but you don't know where the ultimate thing is, and maybe the ultimate thing hasn't even been decided. So that's one of the reasons that the, you know, the shows are like the shows are."

Some of AEW's plans may need to be altered following the news that Bryan Danielson is set to be out for the remainder of the year after suffering an injury.
