Dakota Kai Sidelined With Torn Meniscus

Dakota Kai out for a couple of months due to injury

The nature of Dakota Kai's injury has been confirmed.

Michael Cole announced during Monday Night Raw that Kai will be out of action for eight to ten weeks with a torn meniscus and the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion will undergo surgery.

It emerged in recent days that Kai was suffering from a legitimate injury following an angle on last week's post-SummerSlam edition of Raw that saw Kai be taken out backstage by Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler before Dakota's scheduled match with Deville.

When Kai suffered the injury is unknown. She hasn't wrestled since WWE's house show tour of Japan in late July, during which she teamed with IYO SKY to defeat Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

Kai only recently returned from injury, having been out of action for 10 months with a torn ACL between May 2023 and March 2024.

Kai's Damage CTRL stablemate Asuka will be out of action for the rest of the year with a knee injury. One of WWE's top stars in Seth Rollins is also on the shelf due to chronic injury issues
