Gunther in a green suit holding a championship belt stares at Damian Priest in a WWE Raw wrestling ring

It’s been 94 days since Damian Priest last held the World Heavyweight Championship, but the ‘Archer of Infamy’ will be looking to reclaim it soon after becoming number one contender to champion Gunther on the November 4 edition of WWE Raw.

Priest battled Dominik Mysterio, Sheamus, and Seth Rollins in fatal four way action in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Priest getting the pin fall victory over Mysterio to seal the deal as an interfering Bronson Reed again lay waste to Seth Rollins. Before Priest had a chance to properly celebrate, Gunther came to the ring to stare down his next challenger.

No date has been set for a title clash between the two, and it remains to be seen if the title tussle will occur on a future episode of Raw, or if the two will meet at Survivor Series on November 30.

Gunther and Priest have only met in singles competition on one previous occasion, with Gunther getting a dominant win over Priest at SummerSlam 2024 to win the title. Since winning the belt, Gunther has successfully defended it against Sami Zayn and Randy Orton, but his latest outing ended in defeat at the hands of Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel on November 2.
