Following his banishment from Friday Night SmackDown, WWE now seemingly views Daniel Bryan as an ex-Superstar in storyline.

The former WWE Champion has been moved to the alumni section on WWE.com and his name rests alongside the likes of Damien Sandow, Darren Young and Dawn Marie.

The move means little about The American Dragon's actual WWE status as Superstars have often been moved to the company's alumni section as part of storylines. One recent example is Roderick Strong currently finds himself registered as an alumnus having "resigned" from NXT following the collapse of The Undisputed ERA.

Bryan isn't likely to appear on WWE TV anytime soon, though, following his banishment, particularly as Roman Reigns appeared to put him out of commission with a Con-Chair-To to close out last week's SmackDown.

The leader of the Yes! movement has addressed his WWE future in recent months and Bryan has noted he is contemplating becoming a part-time wrestler when his current deal is up. He has also mentioned wrestling for other companies, with a match at a CMLL Anniversary Show having been revealed as a dream of his.
