Daniel Garcia Wins TNT Title At AEW Full Gear

Daniel Garcia is the new AEW TNT champion, after defeating Jack Perry at AEW Full Gear on Saturday night in Newark.

Late in the match, Garcia fended off several head games from Perry, including a dare from Perry to strike him with the TNT title belt. After Perry was unable to finish Garcia off with the Glass Jaw knee strike, Perry missed a second attempt at the move. Garcia eventually piledrove Perry twice, and then locked him in the Dragon Tamer, dragging Perry to the middle of the ring to draw the submission win.

The win gives Garcia his first championship under the AEW banner. He previously reigned as ROH Pure champion for close to three months in 2022, trading the belt with Wheeler Yuta.

Perry's reign as TNT Champion ends at 146 days. He won the title in a six-way match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30 on Long Island. The belt had been held up after Adam Copeland was forced to vacate it due to injury a month earlier.
