All Elite Wrestling presented the final of their original four pay-per-views of 2024 on Saturday, November 23 as Full Gear emanated from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
FULL RESULTS BELOW:
Anna Jay def. Deonna Purrazzo - Zero Hour
With the building still very empty, AEW kicked off the in-ring action over 100 minutes before the main card began with Deonna Purrazzo vs. Anna Jay. Anna Jay scored an early near fall but Deonna Purrazzo soon gained the upper hand courtesy of interference from her stablemate Taya Valkyrie.
Jay managed to fight back into the match and it became more of a back-and-forth for the remainder of the contest. Taya Valkyrie got ejected after Spearing Jay right in front of the referee, a move that should have really led to a DQ win for the former Dark Order member.
Back in the ring, Purrazzo applied the Fujiwara Armbar but Jay reversed into a Crucifix Pin for the win.
Buddy Matthews def. Dante Martin, The Beast Mortos & Komander - Zero Hour
Four Way action as the Prudential Center looked a lot more full with just under an hour before the main card. The fans were desperate to see The Beast Mortos and Buddy Matthews lock up but they didn't ger their wish as Komander and Dante Martin gained the better of the other two competitors.
Beast Mortos quickly showed his dominance, though, working over Martin and Komander after Matthews spilled to the outside. Martin then enjoyed time on top before Mortos took him out on the outside with his spinning Tope Suicida. Buddy Matthews then followed up with a Tope Con Giro before Komander hit his crazy walk across the top rope springboard dive to take out all of his opponents.
Later, we finally got Matthews vs. Mortos, with Matthews getting the better of the exchange with a Draping DDT. Matthews then whipped out a Jackhammer out of nowhere to score a near fall on Dante Martin.
After more action, there was a big pop after Komander hit a Springboard Poisonrana to Mortos. More punishment for the Beast followed as Dante Martin hit a Frog Splash and the Top Flight man was about to win before Buddy Matthews decked Dante with a Stomp out of nowhere. One pin later on Martin and Buddy had his arm raised.
Big Boom AJ def. QT Marshall - Zero Hour
With Paul Wight on commentary and The Rizzler as the special timekeeper (so many Rizz faces pulled for the people), it was time for Big Boom AJ of the Costco Guys vs. QT Marshall.
After Big Boom AJ milked in the adulation of the crowd, the match began like a classic 1980s Hulk Hogan main event of both competitors feeling each other out, followed by taunts after each successful move.
With The Rizzler still rizzling, AJ hit a huge Powerslam to a big pop as he scored a near fall. QT Marshall then took out all of his trainees with a Tope Con Giro that missed Big Boom AJ. Marshall ended up on top, though, after the action spilt back into the ring and QT worked over the TikTok sensation.
AJ fought back with a huge Belly to Belly as the crowd chanted for the Rizzler. Some old school offence followed with Lariat after Lariat before a Spinebuster as The Rizzler pulled so many Rizz faces. A Running Powerslam scored a big near fall for AJ as Mr. Rizzler was desperate to ring the bell for his friend.
Marshall then looked to have the match won after he decked AJ with a Diamond Cutter but Big Boom managed to kick out at 2.9. QT then tried to attack The Rizzler but Paul Wight made the save.
This prompted Marshall to go high and Big Boom AJ capitalised with a Superplex. Big Boom AJ was then about to hit a Powerboom but Aaron Solo distracted the Costco Guy. This allowed Marshall to hit a Big Boot and he was about to hit another Diamond Cutter but Big Justice took him out with a Spear. One Powerboom later and Big Boom AJ was victorious over QT Marshall.
Post-match, AJ celebrated with Big Justice and The Rizzler to end a fairytale night for the Costco Guys.
Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen) (c) def. The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) vs. Kings of the Black Throne (Malakai Black & Brody King) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) - Four-Way for the AEW World Tag Team Championships
The AEW World Tag Team Titles were on the line in the opening contest of the main card and Kings of the Black Throne dominated the early going as House of Black took out the entire field, which included Brody King levelling a Turbo Floyd hulk up with a big Lariat.
Eventually, the other teams managed to take Brody King down and Anthony Bowens hit him with a big Scissor me Timbers to the nether regions. Turbo Floyd and Bowens were then about to scissor until Max Caster took out the Outrunner as issues within The Acclaimed continued.
Stereo 450 splashes from Private Party to The Outrunners scored near falls. The Outrunners then took out Private Party and had their ultra-macho arm grab to a big pop. Outrunners then whiffed on their Total Recall finisher which allowed Brody King to provide some more decimation, this time to The Acclaimed.
The Outrunners then looked to have the match won following Total Recall to Brody King but Max Caster broke up the pin, which led to "F*ck you Caster" chants from the fans inside the Prudential Center. More issues within The Acclaimed followed after Caster tagged himself in when Bowens was the legal man. Billy Gunn managed to get them on the same page as Caster urged Bowens to pin him. Marq Quen broke it up with a 450 Splash, though.
A blind tag from Max Caster cost The Acclaimed the win as Anthony Bowens hit a Crucifix Pin and had the three on Kassidy but he wasn't the legal man. They then got on the same page as Bowens hit the Arrival but all of the issues allowed Turbo Floyd to block Caster from hitting the Mic Drop.
Private Party knocked Floyd from the apron and the champions followed up with Gin and Juice to Caster to score the 1-2-3. Billy Gunn said nothing and just looked at The Acclaimed in disbelief.
MJF def. Roderick Strong
Roderick Strong tried to exact revenge on MJF in the second match of the show but Roddy allowed emotions to get the better of him after MJF brought up his mother shooting his father. This only allowed MJF to dominate the early going, including a Powerbomb on the apron.
Roddy eventually fought back into the match, hitting MJF with chop after chop as he tried to get the crowd into the contest. MJF hit a Cheeky Nandos kick and he set up for Panama Sunrise, which was blocked by Roderick Strong. A Hammerlock DDT which spiked Strong right on the top of his head scored a near fall for MJF.
MJF later attempted the Brainbuster but his back gave out. Strong took advantage with the End of Heartache but Maxwell Jacob Friedman managed to get his foot to the bottom rope. Roddy hit a trifecta of signature moves finished with the Sick Kick but Strong couldn't make the cover and ended up being levelled moments later by a Brainbuster from Friedman.
Despite MJF hitting a Brainbuster, Roddy made the cover. The arm drape allowed MJF to lock in the Salt of the Earth which led to a very quick tap out from the former ROH World Champion.
Post-match, MJF pillmanised Roderick Strong's arm. Adam Cole then ran to the ring after Strong had his arm shattered, despite having plenty of time to run down when MJF was retrieving the steel chair. After MJF had run off, Kyle O'Reilly appeared and pushed over Adam Cole before KOR helped Strong to the back.
Mercedes Moné (c) def. Kris Statlander - TBS Championship
With Kamille ordered to stay back and watch catering, Mercedes Moné defended the TBS Title against former TBS Champion Kris Statlander.
After Statlander used her power to gain the upper hand in the early going, Mercedes Moné fired back with a Hurricanrana which sent the challenger flying from the apron to the floor. A Meteora to the floor from Moné left the TBS Champion looking for a count-out win but she soon gave up on that plan and continued to beat down Statlander on the outside, including Double Knees to Statlander up against the steel steps.
Statlander managed to get back in the ring but Moné continued to dominate for the next several minutes until the challenger fired back with a Powerslam and Chaos Theory, only for Moné to get her foot to the bottom rope. Crucifix Bomb from Moné scored a near fall before Mercedes locked in a Statement Maker.
Statlander managed to escape, only to be flattened by a Backstabber, which scored another near fall for an increasingly frustrated Moné. Mercedes hit another Meteora but Statlander kicked out again. Tilt a World Backbreaker from Statlander left Kris clutching her knee and she was only able to pick up a two count on the champion.
A Falcon Arrow from Statlander left the fans in Newark believing we could see a new champion but Moné was able to kick out. Mercedes planted Kris with a Tornado DDT and Moné was left screaming after Statlander kicked out again. Three Amigos followed to big boos and she set up for the Frog Splash but Statlander caught her and hit an F5. Even Excalibur on commentary believed that was it but Moné got her shoulder up at 2.9.
Statlander crashed and burned on a 450 Splash, landing knee-first. Mercedes, smelling blood, targeted the right knee and hit a Frog Splash on the knee, but Statlander kicked out again. An annoyed Moné followed up with two Backstabbers and the Moné Maker. That looked to be it but Statlander kicked out at 2.9 to a huge pop from the fans in attendance.
Moné took to taunting her opponent, screaming that she was the CEO. Mercedes then went for another Statement Maker but Statlander used her power to roll through into a Saturday Night Fever attempt. Before she could plant the champion, Moné bit Statlander's leg to escape, sending Kris crashing into the rope. A roll through later and Moné managed to retain the TBS Championship.
Jay White def. Hangman Adam Page
The programme between Hangman Page and Jay White followed in the next match at Full Gear and the action started out slowly as both men got the measure of each other. Jay White was left clutching his right ankle after tumbling to the floor, an issue which Page immediately targeted and worked over.
A very long heat segment of Page battering the ankle followed before Jay White fought back and worked over Page's left ankle. If you put them together, you'd have one functioning human being. Page fired back with a Fallaway Slam from the top rope for a near fall but more limb targeting followed. So much limb targeting and bad legs.
After some clubbing blows, Jay White hit a Flatliner and followed up with a German Suplex for a two count. Hangman then hit a Sit-Out Powerbomb for a close near fall of his own. The action spilt to the apron as Jay White bounced Page's head off the hardest part of the ring following a Suplex. White then did another one on the floor and looked to follow up with a Kneebreaker but they both had bad knees so Hangman was able to push White into the barricade. Page then stuck White's leg between the gap in the apron and kicked the aprons together before he applied an Ankle Lock.
After they got back in the ring, Hangman Page went for the Buckshot Lariat but White blocked it. Page simply followed up with another Ankle Lock. White managed to escape and he fired back with a Uranage. Page kicked out and then blocked a Blade Runner before he locked in another Ankle Lock. White reversed into a submission of his own but Page managed to reach the bottom rope.
Soon after, Page connected with Deadeye and he hit a second one but Jay White managed to kick out at 2.9 as Page had already started celebrating. Page then went for a Buckshot and White countered into a Blade Runner, only for Hangman to avoid it into an Ankle Lock. That looked to be it but White reversed into a Blade Runner out of nowhere to defeat Hangman by pinfall again!
As Jay White mocked Hangman for holding five career wins over him, a furious Page laid out the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion on the ramp. Page then struck Christopher Daniels, a move which will seemingly write off Hangman with a suspension.
Kyle Fletcher def. Will Ospreay
Wearing Punisher-inspired gear, Will Ospreay looked to exact revenge on his former best friend Kyle Fletcher at Full Gear. Their hatred led to both Fletcher and Ospreay charging at each other, with Kyle getting the better of the exchange at the bell.
Ospreay fired back on the outside, hitting a Hurricanrana, leaping from the steel steps to do so. The action went to the apron and then to the floor as Fletcher decked his former friend with a Brainbuster. The fans weren't happy to see Don Callis on commentary, repeatedly telling him to f*ck off.
The Brainbuster allowed Kyle to dominate the next several minutes and he scored a near fall with a Michinoku Driver. Ospreay fought back after Kyle whiffed on a kick, following up with a Sky Twisted Press to the floor. After a chop exchange, Fletcher drew boos by ending it with a Superkick. This led to a Cheeky Nandos Kick from Ospreay before an Airplane Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.
Ospreay tried to follow up with an Oscutter but Fletcher countered with a Neckbreaker while Will was in midair. Fletcher then hit a Last Ride Sit-Out Powerbomb as Ospreay kicked out at two.
After some counters, Ospreay decked Fletcher with a Tombstone Piledriver on the floor. Ospreay looked for the count-out win but Fletcher made it back into the ring at the count of nine. Ospreay wasted no time and hit a Springboard Dropkick and a Splash but it was only enough for a near fall.
Ospreay went for the Hidden Blade but Fletcher avoided it. A counter exchange ended with a Spanish Fly from Ospreay before Fletcher countered a Hidden Blade with a Clothesline. Ospreay simply took out his former friend with a forward-facing Hidden Blade as the fans in Newark rose to their feet.
Ospreay hit a Sunset Flip-Styes Clash and he followed up with another Hidden Blade but Fletcher somehow managed to kick out. An irritated Ospreay proceeded to punch and kick Fletcher before he looked for a Stormbreaker on the apron. Fletcher countered into a Tombstone Piledriver on the steel steps which left Ospreay with a stinger.
Fletcher then hit his finisher - the Grimstone - back in the ring but Ospreay kicked out at the very last moment. The former ROH World Television Champion looked to hit the Tiger Driver but Ospreay countered. Will then went for a Hidden Blade but he didn't have the power in his arm to hit it. This left Ospreay easy prey for Fletcher, who decked the former NJPW star with a Lariat that caused Ospreay to flip.
With Ospreay at his mercy, Fletcher hit a Brainbuster on the top turnbuckle and that was all she wrote as Kyle Fletcher defeated his former best friend clean as a whistle.
Mariah May & Mina Shirakawa Champagne Championship Celebration
After celebrating with some champagne, Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa danced around, only for May to try and deck the love of her life from behind. Mina saw it coming, though, and kicked the champagne glass out of May's hand before Spearing her off the stage and through a table.
With a mouth full of fake blood, Shirakawa called back to May's betrayal of Toni Storm and rubbed blood all over the AEW Women's World Champion's face as May received medical attention.
Daniel Garcia def. Jack Perry (c) - TNT Championship
Jack Perry spent the opening minutes running away from Daniel Garcia but DG eventually caught the champion, only to be levelled with a Draping DDT to the floor.
Perry dominated the next few minutes before Garcia dropped the TNT Champion on his head with a Saito Suplex. Perry managed to apply the Snare Trap moments later, though, but Garcia reached the bottom rope. After Perry pushed Daddy Magic, who was on commentary, the former Jungle Boy promptly Powerbombed Garcia through a table on the outside.
After dumping trash all over Garcia, Perry aimed for the count-out win. Garcia managed to get back in at nine after a very slow count from Rick Knox. Perry then kicked Garcia in the head but Red Death hulked up and hit a Clothesline From Hell before he battered Perry in the corner.
Perry fired back with a Lone Dart into the middle rope before a Burning Hammer-esque move for a near fall. The TNT Champion then grabbed the title belt and handed it to Garcia, begging the challenger to hit him with the strap. Garcia gave the belt back to Rick Knox which allowed Perry to connect with a Low Blow while the referee wasn't looking. The TNT Champion followed up with his knee strike finisher and that looked to be it but Garcia kicked out at the last moment.
Garcia couldn't stay up for another knee strike and the delay allowed Garcia to counter into a Jackknife for a near fall. Red Death followed up with a Piledriver for another near fall which left both men down on the mat from fatigue.
Daniel Garcia loaded into Perry with punches which led to a taunt from Jack Perry, who willingly walked into another Piledriver. A wrenched-back Sharpshooter later and Jack Perry was left with no choice but to tap out.
Daniel Garcia is your new TNT Champion.
Konosuke Takeshita (c) def. Ricochet - AEW International Championship
Konosuke Takeshita quickly gained control in his AEW International Title defence against Ricochet and the champion proceeded to work over the former WWE star for the first several minutes of the match, targeting his back.
Ricochet managed to fire back after such a long time, connecting with a 450 Splash. Takeshita kicked out but Don Callis was so worried he left the commentary desk to urge Takeshita on from ringside. Ricochet didn't have the upper hand for long as the champion hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.
Ricochet for some reason tried to win a striking exchange with Takeshita and failed miserably. Quickening the pace worked much better for the challenger as he laid out Takeshita with a Spear Gun. Takeshita soon fought back with a German Suplex from the top rope before a big Lariat for a near fall. Power Drive Knee followed but Ricochet kicked out again.
Ricochet then hit a Frankensteiner from the top rope before a Poisonrana and Shooting Star Press, only for a near fall, though. Ricochet whiffed on a Spear Gun but he managed to hit a Twisting Brainbuster later. Ricochet then hit a GTS-esque move but he took too long on the top turnbuckle and ate an avalanche Raging Fire from Takeshita.
That was enough for Takeshita to score the successful title defence.
Bobby Lashley def. Swerve Strickland
Bobby Lashley, accompanied to the ring by MVP and Shelton Benjamin, faced off with Swerve Strickland in the semi-main event.
The first several minutes were just Bobby Lashley battering Swerve Strickland as the match followed a similar formula to other matches we have already seen tonight.
Strickland eventually managed to hit some offence, only to be cut off following interference from Shelton Benjamin which prevented Strickland from hitting the Swerve Stomp. After more Lashley dominance, Swerve tried to fight back again but he had his leg grabbed by Shelton again. This time it was right in front of the referee and the official ejected Benjamin.
Not that it mattered, though, as Bobby Lashley continued to dominate. Swerve eventually managed to fight back, using the steel steps to his advantage by bouncing Bobby's head off the stairs. Swerve then connected with a DDT on the apron that left Lashley tumbling to the floor head-first. After Lashley rose to his feet, he was driven through the Spanish announce table by a stairs-assisted Swerve Stomp from Strickland.
Swerve followed up back in the ring with a House Call before a Swerve Stomp. Nigel McGuinness questioned on commentary if that was the end but Lashley ultimately kicked out. Strickland then became distracted by MVP on the outside which allowed Lashley to recover, and the former WWE Champion capitalised by Spearing Strickland through the barricade.
Lashley decked the champion with a Spear back in the ring before he applied the Hurt Lock for the win after Swerve passed out. Post-match, with Swerve helpless, Lashley took out Prince Nana with a Hurt Lock.
Jon Moxley (c) def. Orange Cassidy - AEW World Championship
Main event time as Orange Cassidy looked to reclaim the soul of All Elite Wrestling and take the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley.
Before Justin Roberts could even finish his introductions, Orange Cassidy decked Jon Moxley with an Orange Punch. The challenger followed up with two more before he took Moxley to the announce table and battered him with punch after punch after punch. Some biting followed as Jon Moxley tried to retreat and managed to hit some offence which sent both Orange and the AEW World Champion brawling into the crowd.
Moxley gained the upper hand, though, and proceeded to punch and kick Orange Cassidy around the ringside area, even delivering a stomp on the steel steps. The move left Orange Cassidy bleeding from his head but Moxley wasn't any less merciful as he delivered a Death Rider on the stairs.
Moxley then distracted the referee which allowed Marina Shafir to hit Cassidy with an errant kick. Back in the ring, Orange invited Moxley to hit him with more offence so the champion obliged, biting the King of Sloth Style. A Gotch-Style Piledriver followed but Moxley kicked out at two.
The action spilled to the announce table again and Orange managed to briefly fight back by pressing his thumbs into Moxley's eyes, only for the leader of the Death Riders to quickly retake control with a kick to the head. Back in the ring, Orange Cassidy just asked for more from Moxley. Moxley continued to oblige but it just urged Cassidy on until a kick to the shoulder and a Double Wrist Lock. Cassidy was next sent flying into a barricade, so Moxley took some time to flip off the fans in attendance.
Nothing Moxley did deterred Cassidy for long and Cassidy fired back by raking his fingers across Moxley's back. He was then chopped down again immediately with a forearm from Moxley while Cassidy was in midair.
Cassidy finally hit a Tornado DDT and he went for an Orange Punch, running straight into a Cutter. Orange blocked a Death Rider which led to a slap and forearm exchange. Cassidy continued to ask for more from Moxley, even putting his hands in his pockets before his trademark kicks. This baited Moxley into a Lariat attempt and led to two more Orange Punches. A Moxley lariat was replied with by a Kip Up before another Orange Punch and a Beach Break. Orange could only record a two-count, though.
The close call brought Claudio Castagnoli and PAC to ringside and they looked to enter the ring before Tomohiro Ishii, Kyle O'Reilly and Rocky Romero arrived to even the odds. All of this set up Marina Shafir to use the briefcase but Willow Nightingale returned and took out Shafir. This left Orange with the briefcase and he decked Moxley. The fans in Newawk believed but Moxley kicked out at 2.9.
Orange had the match won, setting up for another Orange Punch, but a hooded figure (revealed to be Wheeler Yuta) appeared from out of nowhere and levelled Cassidy with a knee, with Remsburg missing it. One Death Rider later gave the win to Moxley.
After the match, Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta poured disinfectant into Cassidy's mouth, taking him out. Hangman Page then arrived, took out Wheeler Yuta with a steel chair and looked set to batter Moxley, but it was all a distraction for Christian Cage to appear and drop Moxley with a Killswitch. Before Cage could cash in, though, Jay White appeared and took out Cage with a Blade Runner. White was then beaten down by Castagnoli and PAC.
The Death Riders headed through the backstage area to their pickup truck, which was suddenly crashed into from out of nowhere by a purple-painted car that was, of course, being driven by Darby Allin.
The Death Riders then stole another car nearby and drove off before Darby could reach them. An angry Darby then ended the show by smashing his skateboard into a windshield.
