Darby Allin Begins AEW Hiatus

Darby Allin to miss AEW TV

Darby Allin has begun a hiatus from All Elite Wrestling.

The former TNT Champion was in action at Full Gear on November 18 as Darby teamed with Sting and Adam Copeland to defeat Christian Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne.

It was noted on commentary following the match that Allin would be taking a red eye to climb Mt. Everest. Allin won't be climbing the highest mountain above sea level just yet but he is travelling to China to train for the climb, according to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer.

"The announcers then stated that Darby was supposed to get on a red eye after this match to go climb Mount Everest. I was told that he is getting a red eye, and I don't know this for sure, but I think he's flying to China to train. I don't think he's actually climbing Mount Everest just yet. But that is what they said on television. One way or another, he's going to be gone for a while. He is actually training. It's not a storyline," Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Darby Allin noted earlier this year that he would be going to China in November to train for his climb up Everest. Darby will also travel to New Zealand in February before attempting to scale Everest in April 2024.
