Report: Dark Side Of The Ring Scraps Plans For Episode On Chyna

The Ninth Wonder Of The World won't be featured on the new season...

VICE TV recently renewed the popular TV show Dark Side Of The Ring for a 14-episode third season. The show premiered in 2019 and has since covered topics and people like the Montreal Screwjob, Owen Hart, Chris Benoit, Bruiser Brody and the UWF.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the third season will cover Grizzly Smith and his family, Brian Pillman, Dynamite Kid and Collision In Korea, among other topics. David Arquette also previously claimed a Nick Gage episode was in the works.

WWE Hall Of Famer Chyna won't be the subject of an episode, though. During a recent interview with Wrestling Inc., Chyna's friend and former manager Anthony Anzaldo claimed VICE TV approached him to be part of a future episode on The Ninth Wonder Of The World.

Anzaldo said: "They are putting it on VICE. It's a Dark Side Of The Ring two-hour version. They want me so bad because they know the story isn't told without me. I am not giving them the rights while they claim they still have the rights because I signed a release when I did my sit down."

Anzaldo also claimed the series offered him $1,500 to be interviewed and that any footage featuring him could not be used.

Following the interview, Wrestling Inc. got in touch with Dark Side Of The Ring Producer Evan Husney. He stated: "There are no plans for an episode about Chyna for the upcoming season of Dark Side of the Ring. At the start of pre production earlier this year, we became aware of multiple projects that were currently in production about Chyna, and thus, we ultimately decided against pursuing this as a future subject."
