David Finlay’s New Japan Pro-Wrestling contract is nearing its expiration, with the Bullet Club leader’s deal one of many approaching its conclusion.

NJPW are entering their traditional contract renegotiation season, with many deals set to expire within the next few months. A report from Fightful Select suggests that NJPW are confident of retaining the services of the current IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion, with Finaly expected to remain with the promotion.

The son of former WCW and WWE competitor Fit Finlay, David Finlay has been heavily pushed in New Japan over the last several years, ousting Jay White from Bullet Club in early 2023 and establishing the War Dogs subgroup of the infamous faction.

Finlay is not the only War Dog whose deal is nearing its end, with Gabe Kidd’s NJPW deal also nearing its expiration. Other NJPW talent who are approaching the ends of their deals include TJP and Kevin Knight.

David Finlay is set to put his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship on the line against Yota Tsuji at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 in the Tokyo Dome on January 4.
