Dax Harwood Thinks Shawn Spears Was Too Nice For WWE

Did Shawn Spears miss the edge needed to thrive in the WWE system?

Dax Harwood has claimed that his AEW colleague Shawn Spears was 'too nice' for WWE.

Speaking about the company's backstage politics on a recent edition of his FTR podcast, Dax noted that Spears - who wrestled for WWE as Tye Dillinger - wasn't quite up for playing the game in order to get himself ahead.

"[Tye Dillinger] was just too nice to be in the WWE system. In the WWE system...you don't have to be cutthroat and stab people in the back, but you do have to have an edge to you, and you do have to have a little bit of attitude to you. You gotta fight for yourself".

Harwood heaped praised on Spears for his in-ring talent, while expressing dissatisfaction with the term 'good hand' (used to describe somebody who can put on a good match with anybody and make their opponent look good), a label often used to describe his former Pinnacle teammate.

Spears last wrestled for AEW at the October 13 Rampage tapings in Toronto, Ontario, teaming with FTR to defeat The Embassy in the show's main event.
