Details Of WWE Contract Offer Dean Ambrose Reportedly Turned Down Revealed
Former WWE Champion will be leaving at the end of April...
Jan 31, 2019
Earlier this week, PWTorch reported that
Dean Ambrose handed in his notice and informed WWE that he would be leaving the company when his contract expires at the end of April. Soon after, WWE, in a rather unprecedented move on their part,
confirmed the news in a statement.
The latest we heard on the situation came from
Sean Ross Sapp of fightful, who revealed the statement put out by WWE was confirming information provided by people backstage - and with all things considered, the whole thing is more likely to be real than part of an elaborate storyline (you can read more about that
here).
Now, thanks to Dave Meltzer of the
Wrestling Observer Newsletter, we have more information on the deal Ambrose allegedly turned down.
The former WWE Champion is said to have rejected a five-year deal with "a downside of just over $1 million per year."
One of the main reasons being bandied about at the moment for Dean turning down the chance to stay with WWE is down to how his character has been booked since he returned from injury halfway through last year. Imagine being 'so' frustrated with how you're being used that you feel the need to get out of a contract with that much money allegedly on the table - WOOF!
