On last week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler announced he and his tag team partner Robert Roode had been traded to the red brand. This came after AJ Styles was moved to Friday Night SmackDown in May for future considerations.

The Showoff quickly ignited a rivalry with his former friend Drew McIntyre and they will face off for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules: The Horror Show on July 19.

Ziggler discussed his move to Monday nights during a recent interview with Justin Barrasso at Sports Illustrated. The former World Heavyweight Champion revealed he thought his feud with Otis had run its course and while he didn't pitch moving to Raw, he understands why WWE decided to make the change.

Dolph said: "I didn't pitch this, but I feel like (the program between) myself and Otis had kind of run its course. I really liked working with Otis, Mandy and Sonya. If this were the old days and we were going five days a week and doing live events, we would have had even more chemistry and a really special thing. In this day and age, where it's just a TV show in a closed studio, as young superstars, they came along very quickly. But I don't know where else we could go with that, so I completely understand the move to Raw."
