Dominik Mysterio Wasn't Under WWE Contract During Ring Debut

Dominik hadn't put pen to paper when he wrestled Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2020

WWE star Dominik Mysterio has revealed that he wasn't officially under contract when he made his in-ring debut for the company.

The Judgment Day member made the comments during a recent appearance on Konnan's Keepin' It 100 podcast, saying:

"I did SummerSlam without being on contract. So I got paid for that pay-per-view. We were in the middle of negotiations, so it was all kind of being handled at the time. But in good faith, I was like, 'Yeah dude, I'll do it'".

At SummerSlam 2020, Dominik lost to Seth Rollins in a Street Fight. Mysterio noted that he wasn't full-time until after the following week's Payback, adding:

"I got two pay-per-view cheques and a couple of TV cheques in one sitting and that's when I was like, 'Oh sh*t. This is pretty crazy'".

Dominik has since become an ever-present on WWE television and is a former SmackDown Tag Team Champion (held with father Rey). He is currently aligned with Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley in The Judgment Day stable.

Mysterio, Balor and Priest won a shot at the Usos' Raw Tag Team Titles by winning a number one contenders gauntlet match on last week's episode of Raw.
