Dominik Mysterio Wins Intercontinental Title At WWE WrestleMania 41

Dominik Mysterio is the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, and he pinned his stablemate Finn Balor to win the belt.

The Intercontinental Championship was defended by Bron Breakker in a four-way which featured Mysterio, Balor, and Penta on night two of WrestleMania 41. The crowd was right behind Mysterio throughout the match and issues with Finn Balor played into the finish.

Mysterio attacked Balor first and they went to war for the remainder of the contest. It looked like Balor had the match won after he blocked a Frog Splash attempt from Dominik and followed up with a Slingblade and Coup de Grace to Breakker. While Balor made the pin, Mysterio connected with the Frog Splash to break up the count and he covered Finn for the win.

Dominik’s win follows months of tensions building within Judgment Day between Mysterio and Finn Balor, with issues only growing in recent weeks as they entered the Intercontinental Title picture. 

It also marks Mysterio’s first singles title win on the main roster. He previously held the NXT North American Title on two occasions in 2023 and had a 63-day reign as one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions with Rey Mysterio in 2021. 

Bron Breakker’s second reign as Intercontinental Champion also came to an end after 182 days. He had successfully defended the title against Sheamus, Ludwig Kaiser, and Finn Balor.
