Joe Hendry became the first active TNA talent to wrestle at WrestleMania 41 as he answered Randy Orton's open challenge.
Hendry received a huge reaction inside Allegiant Stadium as they swayed along to Hendry's entrance. The TNA World Champion didn't stand much of a chance against Orton, however, and after hitting his Freak of Nature Fallaway Slam and performing his trademark spin, Joe spun straight into an RKO from out of nowhere.
That was all she wrote as Orton pinned Hendry for the win. Orton then raised Hendry's arm to the crowd post-match before he hit him with a second RKO. Orton then added insult to injury by mocking Hendry's turn before he gave Hendry a "good job, kid" pat.
Randy Orton was originally scheduled to face Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 41, but the match ended up being pulled from 'Mania due to Owens suffering a neck injury which is expected to keep him out of action beyond WrestleMania 42.
Orton was initially without a match at WrestleMania, but it was announced on the go-home episode of SmackDown before WrestleMania that he would be part of an open challenge at the event.
