Kevin Owens was handed some disappointing news over the last couple of weeks, being ruled out of WrestleMania 41 due to requiring neck surgery, though at the time it was unknown when or if he’d return to the ring. A rather sour update has been provided, as Owens will be out for an extended period of time.

Fightful Select have confirmed in a report that Kevin Owens could miss well over a year of time between the ropes, with those in WWE believing next year’s WrestleMania to be an unlikely target for a comeback. Reports emerged over the last couple of days that Kevin Owens had already undergone his neck surgery, but Fightful have noted that this is untrue and he has yet to undergo the surgery.

At the very least, WWE are not expecting him to return to the ring in 2025, and although there is no official timetable, the belief is that he will miss WrestleMania 42 when the promotion heads to the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2026. Over the last week, Owens revealed that he was disappointed that the news of his injury leaked prior to his official announcement. On SmackDown, Owens declared his WrestleMania match with Orton was off, before heading to the back, having a brief verbal altercation with a fan on the way out. There was reportedly a lot of backstage sadness towards the situation.
