Dominik Mysterio Wins NXT North American Title

The tide has changed in NXT. Dominik Mysterio is the new North American Champion, with the Judgment Day rabble rouser capturing his first ever singles title in WWE on July 18.

‘Dirty Dom’ defeated Wes Lee for the gold, but with more than a little help from his Judgment Day cohort. Finn Balor was on hand to distract the referee, and although Damian Priest was unsuccessful with a North American Title attack on Lee, Rhea Ripley didn’t miss, smashing her Women’s World Championship into Lee’s head, allowing Mysterio to get the win.

Post match, Mysterio and Ripley commented on Dom’s win in an NXT 'Digital Exclusive', with Ripley full of praise for Mysterio:

"You’re talking to greatness here. You’re talking to my Latino heat, ‘Dirty’ Dom himself. He’s already surpassed his father, deadbeat dad, and he’s just gonna growing, and growing, and growing, and he’s gonna take over this business. Because he’s part of the Judgment Day, and the Judgment Day, we run all of the WWE," Ripley said.

Mysterio added; "Thank you Mami. You’re definitely correct about all that, and now that I can actually speak and not get interrupted by a bunch of deadbeats and has-beens or whatever’s out there, I am the new NXT North American Champion, and now that I think about it, I’m 2-0 here in NXT. Your boy ‘Dirty Dom’ is undefeated, and with the Judgment Day and Mami by my side, it looks like it’s gonna stay that way.”

The Judgment Day now count two champions in their midst, but Dom will have to look ahead to the Great American Bash, with it now confirmed that he will be putting his newly won title on the line against Mustafa Ali.

With Priest’s Money in the Bank contract, and Finn Balor’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship date with Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, it looks like The Judgment Day are planning on taking over all levels of WWE.
