WWE are heading to Glasgow for Clash at the Castle 2024 on June 15, the first ever ‘premium live event’ to take place in Scotland.

Naturally, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is expected to play a big part in the show, and a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that ‘Irn Dru’ could be set to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at the event.

McIntyre challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the inaugural Clash at the Castle in 2022 but ultimately came up short. Meltzer suggests a win over Damian Priest in Glasgow makes the most sense, although he wouldn’t be surprised if CM Punk cost Drew the championship once more.

Whilst McIntyre is currently out of action with injury, Priest did inform Drew that he will get a title shot down the line when he returns, with the ‘Archer of Infamy’ granting McIntyre’s request on the May 13 edition of WWE Raw.

Although not a native of Glasgow, McIntyre is from nearby Ayr - an hour’s drive from Glasgow. Regardless, despite being a heel, McIntyre is sure to receive a hero's welcome at Clash at the Castle.
