Drew McIntyre Returns At WWE Money In The Bank 2023, Takes Out GUNTHER

Drew McIntyre returned to WWE TV at Money in the Bank

Drew McIntyre is back on WWE TV!

Having been absent since WrestleMania 39 due to various injuries, Drew McIntyre made his return at Money in the Bank in London, England. McIntyre's return came after GUNTHER defeated Matt Riddle to retain his Intercontinental Championship by submission and just as Der Ring General began to celebrate, Irn Dru's music filled The O2.

McIntyre and GUNTHER came face-to-face in the ring and after the Intercontinental Champion pushed Drew in the face, McIntyre fired back with a Glasgow Kiss and the Claymore Kick. Drew then held the Intercontinental Title above his head, signalling his intent to challenge for the gold.

There have been many reports about McIntyre's WWE future, with the former WWE Champion's contract said to be expiring in early 2024, although the company could extend his deal with injury time. The two sides were believed to be far apart on money and McIntyre's return to TV hinged on both sides agreeing on creative. An agreement was clearly reached and McIntyre looks set to face GUNTHER in the near future.
