Report: Original AEW Dynamite Plans For Bryan Danielson Revealed

Bryan Danielson Was Originally Set To Face A Big Name On AEW Dynamite

Bryan Danielson was forced to wrestle through a nasty injury during his Forbidden Door match with Kazuchika Okada. The American Dragon revealed in the post-show press conference that he had fractured his forearm, with the injury later revealed to be worse than originally thought

It was originally estimated that Danielson would need six to eight weeks to recover, but that could no longer be the case.

Whilst it’s unclear which future AEW shows Danielson's injury could keep him out of, one event that he’s already missed was the June 28 edition of Dynamite.

Dave Meltzer has revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter what the Blackpool Combat Club member would have been doing had he not gotten hurt, reporting that Danielson was scheduled to face NJPW's Tomohiro Ishii on Dynamite. Ishii teamed with The Elite and Eddie Kingston to defeat Konosuke Takeshita, Shota Umino and Blackpool Combat Club's Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta at Forbidden Door.

The Stone Pitbull instead faced Danielson's stablemate Jon Moxley on Dynamite, losing in the opening match of the night.
