Drew McIntyre Vs. Damian Priest Officially Set For WWE Clash At The Castle 2024

Drew McIntyre to challenge for World Heavyweight Title at WWE Clash at the Castle

The main event of WWE Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland is official.

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque announced during King and Queen of the Ring that Drew McIntyre has been medically cleared for an in-ring return. Following the interaction between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest in recent weeks, Triple H announced that McIntyre will challenge Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship on Saturday, June 15 at Clash at the Castle from Glasgow's OVO Hydro.

McIntyre had been World Heavyweight Champion for mere minutes at WrestleMania 40 when Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to take the title away from 'Irn Dru.' McIntyre was injured at Mania, suffering a hyperextended elbow and he hadn't wrestled in recent weeks as he looked to recover from injury.

McIntyre will be hoping the 2024 edition of Clash at the Castle ends on a happier note than 2022. McIntyre unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at that show due to interference from Solo Sikoa, with the show instead ending with a sad McIntyre singing with Tyson Fury.

Drew McIntyre recently committed his future to WWE, having re-signed with the company. He revealed that he didn't seriously consider leaving
