ECW Docuseries Being Developed

ECW docuseries in the works

A docuseries on Extreme Championship Wrestling is reportedly being shopped around.

According to PWInsider, a possible docuseries on ECW has been shopped around to a number of possible broadcast and streaming outlets, which includes Amazon and Warner Bros. Discovery. There is no word on whether the project has been picked up by any outlets or the extent of development on the series beyond that it has been pitched.

Nothing for the docuseries has been filmed as of yet. It will be partly based on Eastern Championship Wrestling founder Tod Gordon's memoir, 'Tod is God'.

Tod Gordon sold ECW to Paul Heyman in 1995 and the promotion was rechristened 'Extreme Championship Wrestling'. The organisation went out of business in 2001 and was bought out of court by WWE, who later produced the 'Rise and Fall of ECW' documentary which led to the infamous revival of ECW within WWE in 2006.

A docuseries on the "mysterious demise of WCW" is being developed by The Rock's Seven Bucks Productions
