Docuseries On 'The Mysterious Demise Of WCW' In The Works At The Rock's Seven Bucks Productions

The Rock's production company working on a WCW docuseries

A docuseries on the downfall of World Championship Wrestling is in the works.

Deadline has reported that The Rock's Seven Bucks Productions is actively developing "a docuseries investigating the mysterious demise of World Championship Wrestling (WCW)" in partnership with Vice Studios. The two companies have worked together before on 'Tales from the Territories', a series produced by 'Dark Side of the Ring' co-creators Evan Husney and Jason Eisener.

World Championship Wrestling was founded in 1988 by Ted Turner following his purchase of Jim Crockett Promotions. The promotion folded in 2001 after it was purchased by WWE.

The Rock already has a history with World Championship Wrestling, having held the WCW World Heavyweight Title on two occasions as part of the Invasion angle in 2001.

Plenty of work has already been produced on the downfall of WCW, including 'The Death of WCW' by Bryan Alvarez and R.D. Reynolds, and 'Nitro' by Guy Evans.
