Edge Comments On The Progression Of The Judgment Day Faction

Edge Provides His Thoughts On WWE's Judgment Day Faction And It's Progression Since His Time As Leader

Edge was the original leader of the Judgment Day faction, first recruiting the likes of Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley into the fold. Since its early days in which Edge was cutting spooky promos from a dark room filled with purple smoke, it has developed a lot, adding more members like Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio, and gaining more depth too.

When speaking on After The Bell with Corey Graves, Edge gave some thoughts on the development of the group since its inception a little under a year ago;

“Where it's at now was the goal that I had in mind. I really thought the concept of The Judgment Day, the idea behind it was here's these really talented individuals who I truly felt weren't getting the opportunity that they deserved, and if they got that opportunity that they could fly with it, they could run with it.”

Edge went on to say how the group is better without him, and that the challenges of leading the group were harder than he initially thought;

“Thankfully, they were given the reins to take this in a different direction, an entirely different direction than it would have with Edge at the helm. Again, with Edge at the helm, it's swimming upstream because we are trying to get the audience to turn on a character but they know the backstory to this character, they know the real-life story behind this character, they know Adam's story. So it's like, we don't really want to hate this character because he fought back for something that he wanted to get back and he's also doing something that nobody has ever done before, he's wrestling with a triple fusion in his neck, no one has ever done that. It can be hard to hate that.”

The group has managed to propel Rhea Ripley to the main event scene, it has given Dominik Mysterio huge momentum as a heel, and it has also given Finn Balor a breath of fresh air, with him set to do battle with Edge at WrestleMania 39.
