El Desperado To Possibly Team With Jun Kasai Against Jon Moxley & Homicide
Jun Kasai and El Desperado look set to put aside their issues
El Desperado has called on a rival to stand alongside him at NJPW STRONG Independence Day.
The former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion is scheduled to face Jon Moxley and Homicide on night one of Independence Day on July 4 in Tokyo's Korakuen Hall. Moxley told Despe to find a partner for the match and a video released on NJPW's social media platforms has revealed that Desperado reached out to Jun Kasai about teaming with him at Independence Day.
Kasai has not been confirmed as Despe's partner but the match will likely be made official in the coming days.
El Desperado and Jun Kasai have faced each other on a handful of occasions since 2019. They went one-on-one in a widely-praised encounter at TAKATaichiDespeMania in September 2022 that ended with both men covered in blood. Desperado won the match on that occasion.
Jon Moxley and El Desperado previously faced off in singles action back in the summer of 2022 in a match which the three-time AEW World Champion won.
