El Hijo Del Vikingo Undergoes Surgery Following Serious Injury

El Hijo del Vikingo undergoes surgery

AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo has undergone surgery following a serious knee injury.

Vikingo suffered a right knee injury on February 17 during a six-man tag match alongside Psycho Clown and Wotan against Negocio Traumado. Vikingo revealed on Instagram that he suffered a torn meniscus and a ruptured ligament, and there is no timetable for his return.

Dave Meltzer had revealed the extent of Vikingo’s injuries during an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio shortly after the injury occurred:

“El Hijo del Vikingo injured his right knee in a match tonight, and it’s a meniscus injury as far as we know. I just got the word of a meniscus injury, that he might need surgery. The knee was already bad. And he was probably going to need surgery at some point soon, and this may speed that up and he could be out for a pretty long length of time,” said Meltzer.

2023 saw Vikingo make a number of appearances for All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor, with Vikingo winning critical praise for his in-ring displays, especially against Kenny Omega on the March 22 edition of AEW Dynamite.
