Erick Redbeard Returning To The Ring On UWN Primetime Live

His first match since being released by WWE...

Back in April, Erick Rowan (Erick Redbeard) was released by WWE as part of company-wide cutbacks. While many of the Superstars that were released alongside Redbeard have moved on to new wrestling pastures, Big Red has instead focussed on acting and was cast in Ghosts of the Ozarks. The movie was filmed in Arkansas throughout the summer.

Redbeard's break from professional wrestling is set to end in the coming weeks as he was announced as a participant in the United Wrestling Network World Title Tournament on UWN Primetime Live. He will face off against former Tough Enough contestant Watts in the first round. If Redbeard wins, he will face Chris Dickinson or Peter Avalon in the semi-finals. The other participants in the tournament are Fred Rosser, NJPW's Karl Fredericks, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Mike Bennett.

Redbeard's upcoming match will be his first time in the ring since the March 9 episode of Raw when Drew McIntyre squashed him in under three minutes and murdered his pet spider.
