Report: Daga Granted His Release From IMPACT Wrestling

He hasn't appeared on IMPACT! since April...

Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc. has reported that Daga has been granted his release from IMPACT Wrestling. El Jefe reportedly asked for his release "some time ago" but the promotion was reluctant to grant his request as they wanted to re-sign him.

Why the former Lucha Underground star requested his release is currently unknown. His wife Tessa Blanchard also previously worked in IMPACT Wrestling but she was fired in June.

Daga debuted in IMPACT Wrestling back in February 2019 in a six-man tag team match with Santana & Ortiz against The Lucha Brothers and Rey Horus. He then returned to the promotion in August 2019 and signed with IMPACT in September. He primarily competed in the X Division during his run with the company against the likes of Ace Austin, Chris Bey, Jake Crist and Acey Romero. Daga wrestled in AAA and MLW during the same period and is the current AAA Latin America Champion.

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Daga has competed in independent promotions KAOZ Lucha Libre, Promociones EMW and Warrior Wrestling.
