Heath Slater shockingly returned to Monday Night Raw back on July 6 and confronted Drew McIntyre for not contacting him after his WWE release. The two men then briefly went one on one and settled their differences after the match by chasing off Dolph Ziggler. The former 3MB members embraced to end the segment and Heath said his return was a "nice closing of a chapter."
Heath revealed during a recent interview with PWInsider Elite that WWE originally planned for him to stick around a little while longer. The company wanted the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion to face Dolph Ziggler on the July 13 edition of Raw and then make an appearance at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.
Heath said: "It was a whole stint of me and Drew do what you saw on Raw, then the following week I go and work Dolph on Raw, then I have to do something at some pay-per-view, the Horror Show pay-per-view. So I got down there and they brought that up to me, and I said 'nah, this is a one and done.'"
Heath ultimately passed on WWE's offer and debuted in IMPACT Wrestling a couple of weeks later at Slammiversary. He is yet to be officially signed by the promotion, but he has the chance to earn a contract and save Rhino's job on Saturday when he competes in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet at Bound For Glory.
