Erik Pulled From WWE Raw At The Last Minute

A change was made to Monday Night Raw ahead of the show on Monday, September 18 from Salt Lake City, Utah. The New Day were originally scheduled to face off with The Viking Raiders on Raw but Adam Pearce revealed ahead of Raw that Erik was not medically cleared to compete. 

The New Day initially lobbied for a Handicap Match against Ivar but Pearce eventually agreed to a singles match between Ivar and Kofi Kingston. The match was widely praised when it aired on Raw and Kofi Kingston ultimately picked up the win. 

If Erik's injury is just storyline or legitimate is unknown. The New Day and Viking Raiders have had two tag team matches in recent weeks and their record is tied at one win apiece. PWInsider reported the rubber match was scheduled to take place all day on Monday until it was pulled late on.

There were several changes to Raw outside of Erik being pulled from the show. Tegan Nox was reportedly scheduled to challenge Becky Lynch for the NXT Women's Championship but Nox was switched out for Natalya. Nox instead went one-on-one with Xia Li on Main Event. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ricochet was also moved to later on the show after originally being scheduled to follow Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio.
