Erik Undergoes Neck Fusion Surgery

Erik out of action following neck fusion surgery

Ivar will be a singles talent for the foreseeable future.

Ivar's Viking Raiders tag team partner Erik has been out of action since the September 11 taping of Main Event where the Viking Raiders defeated Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

Erik wasn't expected to be back anytime soon and the man himself has now confirmed that he underwent C6/C7 neck fusion surgery.

"I cannot express the proper gratitude and thankfulness to the amazing Dr Cordover and his incredible staff at @andrews_sports_medicine and St Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, AL and to @wwe for always making sure I have the best care possible. C6 / C7 fusion surgery was successful and recovery begins now. I'm excited for all the possibilities once my cybernetic upgrades come fully online," Erik posted on Instagram.

Neck fusion surgery usually puts talent out of action for one year.

Ivar has been a singles talent since September 18, with the Viking Raider putting in impressive performances against the likes of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Ivar has since been billed as 'The One True Warrior', having been bestowed with the wisdom of Odin and the power of Thor.

Ivar will have the opportunity to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship on next week's edition of Raw when he competes in a Fatal 4-Way with The Miz, Bronson Reed, and Ricochet.
